The ResearchComp Community of Practice (CoP), an international network designed to foster collaboration and support research careers across Europe, will officially launch on 21 November 2025, from 11:00 to 12:00 CET, in an online event hosted via Zoom.
The event will introduce the new Community of Practice, demonstrate its platform and engagement opportunities, and present the key tools and resources available to members. Participants will also be encouraged to join the network and take an active role in shaping its future.
Developed under the CROSS project, the ResearchComp CoP brings together stakeholders from diverse sectors to strengthen research career development through the ResearchComp framework — a European reference model for transversal skills. Recognising the opportunities that ResearchComp offers, the CROSS project seeks to contribute to its broader implementation alongside the new Charter for Researchers.
Within CROSS, the Community of Practice acts as a central hub connecting researchers, institutions, and policymakers who share a vision of more sustainable and inclusive research careers. The project also develops a career support toolbox, piloted across four European ecosystems, offering:
- A self-assessment tool for researchers to identify their transversal skills, strengths, and development needs;
- Training programmes for career advisors to help researchers design personalised career tracks;
- Mentoring services to facilitate transitions beyond academia;
- A repository and support network for institutions implementing the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R).
Together with the CoP, these initiatives form a comprehensive system of career management services, aiming to promote organisational change and enhance research career development across Europe.
