The SECURE project proudly participated in the OECD Global Science Forum at the International Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in Science Workshop. This impactful event focused on fostering inclusive excellence in scientific research.
During Session 4: Reducing Barriers at Different Stages of an Academic Career, SECURE Project Coordinator, Dr. Gordon Dalton, shared insights from the Horizon Europe project Sustainable Careers for Researcher Empowerment (SECURE). He presented key lessons learned and highlighted how the European Research Career Framework (RCF) was implemented, with a strong emphasis on gender equality.
Dr. Dalton introduced a comprehensive list of 117 intervention actions developed by the SECURE project to support research-performing and funding organizations in adopting the European RCF recommendations. These interventions aim to tackle critical challenges such as gender disparity, precarity in research careers, and the establishment of tenure-track-like models designed to empower researchers at every career stage.
By contributing to these global discussions, SECURE reaffirms its commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion, paving the way for sustainable and inclusive research environments.
